Make sure to check out the video below to learn about how to use the SportsBlock chat and instant messaging feature as a member of a team or group.

The chat and instant messaging feature on SportsBlock allows members of a team or group to communicate internally within their team or group and receive messages from their club or academy.

Team chats are managed by either the club or academy when setting up the team.

Depending on the settings selected for your team or group you can communicate using the chat feature in a number of ways:

You can receive and send messages in a team group chat

You can receive and send messages in a smaller group chat of anywhere from 2 or more members

You can receive and send messages with your club or academy, as long as they initiate a conversation with you first, and

You can direct message individuals within your team or group, as long as this setting has been turned on by your club or academy.

To access your chat inbox on both the mobile app and desktop, look for the chat icon at the top of the screen.

When you click this icon, your inbox will open, showing all active chats and messages you’ve received. On this page, you’ve got a filter icon that allows to switch between users if you’re managing multiple people from your account.

The plus icon allows you to create a new chat or send a direct message to an individual in the team or groups that you’re in, but only if this settings has been turned on by your club or academy administrators.

To access and view a chat, select the chat from your inbox. This will show all previous messages, and members that are currently online will be shown in green.

With the SportsBlock chat feature, you’re able to send a message, you can share your location, attach a file, photo, or video, record an audio message, view read receipts for messages, edit a message, reply to a specific message, and add a reaction to a message.

Selecting the three dots in orange at the top of the chat window, you can leave this conversation, delete the conversation, edit the conversation (which allows you to remove people from it), view any files and media sent in this conversation, and mute the conversation.

To return to the inbox, select the inbox bar at the top of the screen.

To close the chat inbox, select the ‘X’ in the top right hand corner.
